Software solution to mirror touch-pad zone?

I have Vertex Tab 4G 10-1 tablet that was repaired and got its touchpad fixed. The issue is that it was some weird, last-in-stock touchpad module and now I have it mirrored in regards to the screen orientation, i.e. the touchpad zone is not 1:1 translation to the screen but rather mirrored by both AXIS:
Is there any way for me to fix it programmatically via Android? Where would I even start? I would assume I’m gonna need root at lowest, my line of thinking is:
- Dump original FW
- Somehow unpack it and modify relevant stuff
- Flash it back?
