Does DLC for games on GOG need to be redownloaded/reinstalled when the version changes?

on GOG you can use the browser to download Offline Installers for games and DLC. sometimes when a game is updated a patch download is available like No Man’s Sky and The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky (all 3 games). however some games like Littlewood don’t so you would have to download the full installer again.

one thing i noticed with Age of Wonders: Planetfall is that when the game version changes, so does the version of all the DLC. generally for the most part this isn’t been too much of an issue since redownloading the base game and DLC installers hadn’t been that much of a pain.

However i got Talisman: Digital Edition recently and all of it’s DLC, 40+ items, all are a separate installer. recently Talisman updated from 74722 to 74722.1 which includes the base game and all the DLC, but when i downloaded the base game and DLC it was 74722 and downloading all the DLC was a bit of a pain tracking which ones i had already downloaded. i am wondering on a more generic level if i need to redownload all the DLC when the base game (and the DLC) version has been updated? if it’s a game-by-game basis then i would settle for an answer on just Talisman

NOTE: i know there’s GOG Galaxy but i am downloading all the installers for all the games i own for an archive, alot of them i am not up to playing yet and rather keep the installer archived than using the client to download and install like what Steam does
