How to ensure LibreOffice Writer zoom settings persist as default

In LibreOffice Writer I tend to prefer the view setting: View -> Zoom -> Page Width. Is there a way to ensure Writer uses this setting when I first open a document. I am marking many student assignments, and I need to change this setting on opening each of their document submissions.

The following switch makes no difference in either position:
Tools -> Options -> Load/Save -> General -> Load user-specific settings with the document.
