Coefficients outputs by DATCOM

Aviation Asked by Azes on February 17, 2021

I’m trying to understand the outputs given by the DATCOM method. For example I have this formula for pitching moment coefficient :

Pitching moment coefficient equation

DATCOM give me these coefficients related to the pitching moment :
cm, cma, cmq, cmad, and dcm_sym for the elevator contribution.

I have seen in some models that the total contribution would be an addition of static contribution (cm), dynamic contribution (cmq * q * Lref / V + cmad * alphadot * Lref / V), and elevator contribution (dcm_sym).

Is cma "contained" in cm coefficient?

Why is dcm_sym not multiplied by the elevator deflection δm ?
