What's the advantage of cosine distance over Jaccard distance for text document similarity

Cross Validated Asked by zesla on February 4, 2021

We usually use cosine distance as the similarity measure for text document. However, Jaccard distance also somehow make sense to me.
My question is for text document, is there any advantage of using cosine distance over Jaccard distance? Or both are fine? Appreciate if anyone can give insightful answer. Surprisingly I cannot find a good answer by googling….
