Is there a gesture or shortcut to turn light on and off on my Kindle 10th Generation?

Ebooks Asked by Tantalus on February 5, 2021

My issue is the following: I go outside on a bright sunny day to read and turn off the back light via the settings menu so as not to waste battery. That evening, in my darkened bedroom I reach for my Kindle to continue reading and, since I turned off the light earlier, I can’t see my screen thereby making it pretty much impossible for me to navigate to the brightness settings with any accuracy.

Is there a gesture or shortcut to increase brightness without having to see the menu?

I would love it if I could change the pinch gesture from increase font size to increase brightness.
