Another word to replace unfortunately

English Language & Usage Asked by coldcuttrio on April 15, 2021

I am looking for a word that can replace "unfortunately". The context is an email to reply to a query on the award of project.

Example: someone emails and asks if we have heard any news on the award. My reply would go like
"Unfortunately, we have yet to receive any update from the client…". However I feel that unfortunately is a bit too strong. Is there any other word that can be used here?
