Aerial LiDAR Classified Point Clouds| Defining Flightline File Source ID + Point Source ID

Definition:
Each swath should have an unique identifier represented by the Flightline File Source ID, supplied to us in a Flightline shapefile.
Each point ties back to a specific complete swath, from beginning to end via Point Source ID.

Question:
Do you know any end use cases that would be impacted if the swath was split up into ‘blocks’ not preserving the entire swath for a region?
