ceiling fan not getting enough power

Home Improvement Asked by Debi Tengler on November 6, 2020

not enough power to my new ceiling fan
Connected new ceiling fan as directed and it starts to turn and then stops.
Old fan worked great but did not have lights. The new one has led lights and remote.
Suggestions?

One Answer

Some possibilities:

  1. Does the fan have a pull chain switch? If so, you may have the pull chain switch on the fan in low. Pull chain switch must be in high for remote to function. Push high fan on the remote and then go through the settings with the pull chain to get to high fan.

  2. Does the fan have a reverse switch? Make sure the reverse switch is not activated.

  3. Is there a wall switch? Is it a dimmer switch? If so, it my be in a dimmed state.

  4. Fan may be defective.
