Search in a Dataset

I’m new to mathematica and I’m struggling to search for a value in a dataset.

I have a dataset consisting of pairs of two values.
The import led to:

name = Import["name.txt","CSV"]

= {{1,2},{3,4},{5,6},…}

Now I would like to find the pair in the dataset, where the first value is for example 1.

If I enter

name[[1]]

the output gives me the right pair. But I don’t know how to search the database for it.

I hope somebody can comprehend my problem.
