Parking brake repair

The parking brake on this 2002 Chevrolet Impala stopped working shortly after a visit to a shop. Maybe just correlation, maybe causation, I don’t know..
In any case, I have taken some pictures and I don’t quite understand how it’s supposed to work.
Cables don’t seem broken. Are the components where they should be? Anything missing?
