Negativly-coorelated sibling traits

Psychology & Neuroscience Asked by Kevin Kostlan on December 6, 2020

There are plenty of psychological traits such as personality and preferences that can be quantified with questionnaires. Most notable is the "big 5" traits.

Since siblings are genetically related and (usually) come from similar environments they have much in common. However, it is feasible that a negative correlation between siblings could develop once in a while. For example, suppose there is a division of labor where one sibling gets good at task A and another at task B. Each will learn different skills which may push some trait in opposite directions.

It is debatable to what extent many "quantifiable traits" have meaning, but a negative sibling correlation coefficient would still be unexpected regardless. Are there any documented examples?
