Creating ODBC connection using "Run As a Different User"

I cannot login to my Virtual Machine with the AD account that has a connection to specific database. I can however open ODBC using "Run As A Different User". My question is, whether is there any expiration to such connection? Is the username and password stored somewhere? I need to know if I setup such connection it will last.
