Am trying to compile a tex file from vim (latex-suite), but ' ll ' do not work

TeX - LaTeX Asked by Ruffnǝck on January 9, 2021

after saving with :w I press ESC’ and then ‘ll’ but vim makes the error sound and nothing gets compiled , please could you help me ?. Also is there any way to compile from the insert mode, if yes which is the vimrc configuration?

Your problem is not related to latex. But since I also use vim I'm going to help you out. Personally I use the plugin vimtex. The default compile command is localleader + ll which in a default .vimrc would be ll just as you said.

By default, vimtex will recompile everytime you save (:w). I see no point in compiling in insert mode because in insert mode the file isn't saved yet.

As a bonus, check this blog on how to use latex+vim.
