Best way to list symbols in Latex

TeX - LaTeX Asked by Edmund Blackadder on February 18, 2021

I am looking for the best way to list symbols in within a latex document. I already know how to list my symbols at the beginning of the document using for example:

usepackage[symbols,nogroupskip,sort=none]{glossaries-extra}

And then something like this:

glsxtrnewsymbol[description={Fuel Cost function of the $i^{th}$ unit with generation output, $P_{ih}$ at the $h^{th}$ hour.}]{F_{i}(P_{ih})}{ensuremath{F_{i}(P_{ih})}}

However, I don’t want the list of symbols at the beginning but throughout the document when necessary. What is the best way to do this. I usually just list it out, but the space between symbols and description of the symbols are all different and it doesn’t look neat.
