Write symbols as text

I try to write different symbols as text form. I don’t want the symbols to have a code function.

I’d like to be able to write the symbol ~. ~ will perform the special space. ~ won’t do anything.

Is there a way to force text like text{text & Symbols will be exactly displayed as here ‡Í‡Í‡ÎflÎ◊ı»ˆˆÍΙ}
