Pass Key value as Paramenter

Unix & Linux Asked by Sivaguru on January 29, 2021

I have the COBOL program runs on Linux servers. The program can accept Function Keys (F1-F12) and perform various operations.

We have Unix script to automate the steps that user executes on the COBOL screen. A file which has the sequence of the input that user may key-in will be passed ( input redirect ) to the script.

Everything works fine until a Function Key needs to be be inputted. We are not sure what to put inside the Input file to represent Function Key. We have tried specified the terminfo value , hexa value of respective Function Keys but all if recognize it a characters , but NOT as Function or Control Keys.

Can someone throw little light to resolve this issue.
