PulseAudio module-remap-source blocks shutdown

Unix & Linux Asked by Konrad Höffner on February 2, 2021

I added the following part to my /etc/pulse/default.pa to fix my mono microphone from recording on one channel only, which works great while the machine is running, but when I shut down my PC, it blocks it with a stop job on user 1000.

.nofail
load-module module-remap-source master=alsa_input.usb-Focusrite_Scarlett_2i2_USB-00.analog-stereo master_channel_map=front-left,front-left channel_map=front-left,front-right

Why is module-remap-source preventing my PC from shutting down even though the command is working perfectly fine while it is running? How can I prevent this stop job?
